Christmas trees are an important artistic decoration for this holiday
This Christmas tree is an artistic decoration for the bright holiday. The lights on a Christmas tree are said to represent stars. Christians around the world celebrate Christ's Birthday on December 25th.
Christmas is a holiday that celebrates the birth of Jesus Christ. God who created the Universe sent Jesus to the earth as the Savior. Jesus was born in the Middle East some time around 0 B.C.

The Christmas season is well known for the exchange of kindness, gifts and the decoration of homes with lights, holly, and Christmas trees. But, the day of Christmas remains a religious holiday where people participate in special religious services.

In the New Testament, the Gospels of Saint Luke and Saint Matthew testify to an Angel appearing to shepherds outside of the town of Bethlehem. Saint Luke describes how the Angel tells of Jesus' birth. Matthew tells how the Wise Men followed a bright star that led to Jesus.

For a long time, December 25th has been the day to celebrate Christ's birthday. This day of celebration has been known as early as the Roman calendar of A.D. 336.

Art plays a big part in the Christmas holiday. By the time of the 1400's, artistic paintings of the Nativity (The birth of Jesus) had become well known. The craft of decorating Christmas trees became popular during the 1800's -- When the Christmas carols "Silent Night" and "Hark! The Herald Angels Sing" were written.

Christmas has become the happiest time of year around the world in Australia, Belgium, British Isles, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Latin America, Luxembourg, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Spain, Sweden, and the United States. There are a very small number of people that celebrate this holiday in Asia and Africa.

Merry Christmas!
